How do I create a modifier group?

What is a modifier group? 

A modifier group is a list of custom items a user can add to an item. For example, if a user is ordering a hamburger, a modifier group for this item might be "hamburger toppings". Within this "hamburger toppings" modifier group, the modifiers may be lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup etc. 

Creating a modifier group

If you are setting up your menu from scratch, it’s a good idea to start by creating modifier groups. That way you can add them to the menu items when you create them.

1. Go to the Menus tab in backoffice

2. Select your Brand and Location from dropdown

3. Go the Modifiers tab

4. Click Add New
   
   
   
   
   

5. Enter the name of the modifier groups (ex. Burger Toppings)

6. Enter the Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity

   1. If Min Qty = 0, choosing an option from this modifier group will not be required

   2. If Min Qty = 1, choosing an option from this modifier group will be required

   3. If Min Qty = 2 or greater, choosing 2 or more options from this modifier group will be required

   4. If Max Qty = 0, user may choose an unlimited number of options from this modifier group

   5. If Max Qty = 1 or greater, there will be a limit to how many options users can choose from this modifier group
      
      

7. Select Single selection if applicable

   a. Single selection means users will only be able to select 1 of each modifier. There will be no quantity picker for each modifier in this case

   
   

8. Add the description to the modifier group (Ex. Please select your toppings)

   a. This description will be displayed to users and is typically used to instruct users on what they are choosing
   
   
   
   
   

9. Once you’ve added all the required information, click Save
