How do I duplicate/share an existing item?

Overview 

Menu items can be shared throughout multiple categories or menus. For example, this would apply in cases where the same menu item is offered for both pick-up and delivery, lunch and dinner, or even within the same menu as both an appetizer and a side.

Menu items that are shared are completely linked. There is one menu item recorded in two location. If you update any information associated with the item (name, pricing, availability, images, etc.), it will change in all duplicate locations.

This function uses the duplicate icon.

Step 1: Create a menu category 

Ensure you have an existing menu category that you would like to place your copy into. If not, follow the below steps to create.

1. Select the desired menu
2. Select New Local Category plus icon
3. Enter the Category name
4. Select ‘Save’

Step 2: Share menu item(s)

Share the existing menu item(s) into the new category.

1. Select the duplicate icon on the bottom left of the menu item
2. In the pop-up, select the new category you would like to share to
3. Select ‘Next’
4. If you would like to share the items in bulk, check off all other applicable items when prompted
5. Select ‘Assign To Category’

6. Make sure to Save and/r Publish your changes.
