Overview
Menu hours dictate the available time for guests to place orders for each menu, if different hours are applicable in comparison to the location's hours.
For example; menu hours would be especially useful for a location with a Breakfast or Lunch menu that is available for a specific time only, or for a location that wants to stop accepting delivery orders earlier than they stop accepting takeout orders.
Backoffice Setup
- Go to the Menus section of Backoffice.
- Open the menu page for the desired location using the Brand and Location dropdown menus, then click on the pencil icon for the menu you want to change (e.g. Pick-up).
- Click the X to remove any existing unwanted hours, then click on Set Availability.
Select the days you want to set hours for, and select the hours you want to set in the field shown below. Save each grouping of days with the same hours, and re-edit the menu hours until you are satisfied.
For example, if the hours are the same for Monday-Friday, you can set all those hours at once, Save, and then repeat to set your weekend hours.
- When all the hours are set for the menu, click Publish.
- Note: When changing menu hours for locations with delivery network/marketplace menus, push the menus to the delivery network(s) again to apply the changes.
- The hours published on Uber come from the menu availability, not the hours of operation on the location page. The Uber (or Delivery Network) menu is the menu that will be published on Uber.

Best Practices for Menu Hours
Pickup menu hours
Customers can only place orders for a pickup time during the menu availability hours set for your pickup menu. This means that if your pickup menu hours are set from 11:15am-9:00pm, the first available pickup time will be 11:15am, and the last available pickup time will be 9:00pm.
If your location opens at 11:00am, and you need time to prepare orders before opening hours, you should add the lead time to your menus opening hours. In this case, if you need 15 minutes to prepare orders after opening, you should set your menu hours to open at 11:15 am.
Delivery menu hours
Customers will be able to place orders for delivery during the menu availability hours of your delivery menu. This means that if your delivery menu hours are set from 11:15 am - 9:00 pm, the first available delivery time will be 11:15am and the last available delivery time will be 9:00 pm.
If your location open at 11:00am, and you need time to prepare orders before opening hours, you should add the lead time to your menus opening hours. In this case, if you need 15 minutes to prepare orders after opening, you should set your delivery menu hours to open at 11:15 am.
For delivery, you may want to allow customers to order for delivery past your locations closing time. For example, if courier drive time is 20 minutes, but your closing hour is 9:00 pm, you may want to extend your delivery menu hours to 9:20 pm, so that user can select the delivery time of 9:20 pm.
The last available time for customers to place an order will be your Menu closing time subtracted by the Delivery Lead time.
Delivery network menu hours
Delivery network menu hours dictate when user customers can place orders. They do not dictate the available delivery hours. The menu hours set up for delivery networks in our back-office are the location hours that show to customers on the respective delivery networks.
Delivery network lead times are set up on the delivery network side for each delivery network and impact the delivery times customers can order for. We suggest setting delivery network menu hours to open slightly earlier and closing slightly earlier than your location hours.
