Step 1: Set up the donation category
1. Go to the Menus section of back-office
2. Select your Brand and Location
3. Select the menu you would like to add a donation category to
4. Click the New Category button
5. Add category image, name and description.
These will all be displayed as part of the donation pop-up
6. Select the Category Type Code, "Donation"
7. Select the "Upsale Only" option
8. Save the Category
Step 2: Set up the donation items
1. Click on the items tab
2. Select the Donations category
3. Click the New Item button
4. Set up the donation item
Add the item name "Donation" to make it clear to users what the charge is for. You can add 1 to 4 items in the donation category. The price should always be greater than $0.00.
5. If your location is POS is integrated, map the menu item to the correct POS ID.
6. Publish your item
Additional Notes on Donations
Number of items in the donation category
- If the donation category only has 1 item, we only give the user the option to select NOT NOW or DONATE
- If the category has more than 1 item, we display all items and the user can select 1 or more of the items.
- We display a maximum of 4 donation items from a donation category
- If the category has more than 4 items set up, we will only display the first 4 items
- We will always display donations in ascending order of $amount (smallest to biggest, left to right)
- ie. $5.00, $10.00, $15.00, $20.00
This feature may require an update to apps/websites

- Enterprise menus
- You can set up the donation category on enterprise menus to share across all brand locations
- Multiple menus/order types
- If you want the donation to appear for all order types, you must add a donation to the respective menus
