How do I set up Countdowns by KDS?

Overview

You can set up countdowns by KDS in the backoffice following the steps below.

By setting up countdowns by KDS, users will only be able to place order for a limited number of items every 15min to specified Kitchen display systems. 

 

Set up KDS devices to support countdowns

1. Go to the Devices tab 

2. Click Add KDS button or Edit button for devices that are already set up

3. To apply Countdowns to a KDS, turn the Countdown toggle to ON 

4. Save your changes 

 

 

Setting up Countdowns by KDS

Configure Location Preferences

1. Go to Brands & Locations tab 

2. Click on Edit Location

3. Go to PREFERENCES tab

4. Under Order Throttling, Select by Label KDS

5. Enter the default Countdown Quantity 

The Default Quantity set in preferences will populate all fields. Operators can customize this number based on a 15 minute timeframe. This number will determine how many menu items can be placed during that window.

 

Edit Countdown Quantity for Time Periods 

1. Go to Operations tab > Countdowns 

The countdowns chart will be based on hours of operations. If the location is closed on certain days, they will be marked as N/A. To adjust days of week or start an end time, update the hours of operations in the Brands & Locations page.
