Overview
Lead time represents the time between the moment the order is placed and the moment the order is in the hands of the client. Delivery network lead times are controlled through the delivery network platforms for all delivery networks.
Prep time represents the time between the moment the order is placed and the moment the order is in the hands of the courier. The settings listed below control the prep time for orders so that couriers arrive at the appropriate time.
Setting up delivery network prep time
- Go to the Order Monitor in backoffice.
- Select your brand & location from dropdown menus.
- Click on the gear setting to view settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of lead time setting pop-up to set up delivery network lead times .
Uber Eats and DoorDash
When Uber Eats and DoorDash orders are accepted, the assigned lead time is sent for the courier to pick up the order from the store.
- Smart Preparation Time is a feature enabled through Uber. If Smart Preparation time is enabled for the store, instead of using the default prep time set by the store, the algorithm looks at past orders and how long they took to be prepared and changes the time dynamically.
- This can cause couriers to arrive earlier than expected to the restaurant.
Skip The Dishes
Skip the Dishes sends the courier pickup time with each order, as displayed on the order monitor. By default, orders will fire immediately. If this lead time is setup, orders will fire in advance of the courier pickup time by this lead time.
- Only set this lead time up if Skip the Dishes couriers arrive late on a regular basis.
