Overview
Depth Messages are a feature that allows operators to promote marketing campaigns directly to app users. They can be defined at the client app or at the company brand level. Depth messages can be multi-lingual, and we currently support English, French, and Spanish.
Depth messages contain the following data elements (*optional):
Title (under 256 characters)
Description (under 512 characters)
Digital asset URL*
Expiration date
Deep link*
Deep links enable users to click the depth message and be taken to a page of your choosing from the menu. For example, if the depth message is advertising a new appetizer, you can set up a deep link to take the user to the appetizer menu category when they click the depth message.
Depth messages are returned to the mobile client on the app's landing page and only one depth message can display at a time.
Brand depth messages have higher priority than the client app depth messages (i.e. if a company brand has a depth message, it is returned instead of the client app depth message).
Mobile apps will display depth messages once a day.
Creating Depth Messages
Go to the Communications section in the back office.
Select the Depth Messages tab.
Click ADD NEW
Select the Client App or Company Brand where the depth message should appear.
Enter the title of the depth message (this is only shown internally).
Enter the depth message body (external - this will appear to users).
Upload an image for the depth message.
The image dimensions must be w450 x h480 in a PNG file format
Optionally, add a deep link by following the below steps:
Select the brand
Select the page to navigate to.
You may need to provide a specific link. For menus, categories and items, you have to manually add a link.
Deep links can be found on each menu, category or item in the Menus section of the backoffice.
Click the pencil icon for the menu/category/item you would like to link, and find the Copy deep link button (likely at the bottom of the editing field).
Click on the Copy Deep Link button and paste the link into the "Add link here" field
- Click Save to save your changes
