Overview
Push notifications are clickable pop-up messages that appear on a user's device. They serve as a quick communication channel enabling companies to convey messages, offers, or other information to their customers. Push notifications can be scheduled or sent immediately. They may also be triggered by a certain user action, such as placing an order.
This article contains instructions for setting up push notifications in backoffice.
Creating a Push Notification
Go to the Communications section in backoffice.
- Go to Push Notifications.
Click on the Add New button. This will open the below window:
First, select a type of notification from the dropdown menu. The notification types are as follows:
Curbside order
Marketing
These notifications are sent to a specified audience.
Pickup order
These notifications are sent to a user during/after the order processing.
Store notification
Optionally, add a title for your push notification. These will not display publicly, but can be used to identify the notification in backoffice.
Add the notification message. Push notifications can have a maximum of 240 characters.
The Call to Action feature is not yet available
Upload an image
Your image must be in PNG, JPG or JPEG format. Dimensions 750x600 px, 100kb max.
Select a Target audience.
Users can filter recipients by client app, brand, location.
The selected Client app MUST match the selected brand and/or location.
Alternatively, users can upload a spreadsheet containing account emails using the button ‘Upload Target Audience List’.
The spreadsheet must be in .xlsx format, and cell A1 must have the word Email. A2, A3, A4, and so on will have customer email addresses.
Select scheduling for your push notification.
Push notifications can be scheduled to send immediately or at a future date/time.
