Overview
Items and categories can be made unavailable at the location level. This is useful when locations run out of stock for an item, or, for enterprise menus, if some menu items are only available at certain locations and should be disabled entirely at others.
Automatic availability settings for child locations can be configured at the brand level using the Mark Child Unavailable setting. For more information about this, visit How do I set up enterprise menus?
The following article describes how to manage unavailability in the Operations section of backoffice. It includes instructions for adding unavailability to items or modifiers, refreshing unavailability at the whole menu level, and removing unavailability from a whole menu or from individual items.
Adding unavailability to an item
- Go to the Operations tab
- Select Menu Availability

Search for an item or modifier
- Using the search bar, enter the item or modifier name you are looking for.
- Click on Search button
- Matching results to your search will show below.
- Note: You cannot search for a price level
- From there you can mark the item as available/unavailable
- Select your brand from dropdown menu.
- Select the location from dropdown menu.
- Locate menu.
- Click + button to view categories.
- Click + button to view items in category.
- Locate item.
- Click on gear icon.
- Select Unavailable.
- Select the Channels you would like to make menu unavailable for.
- Select Unavailable Time
- Marking an item unavailable temporarily will make it unavailable until the closing hours of the location. The item will be available again when the store opens the next day.
- Marking an item unavailable permanently will make it unavailable indefinitely until it is manually marked available again.
- Click Save Changes.
Mark Modifiers as unavailable
- Select your brand from dropdown menu.
- Select the location from dropdown menu.
- Scroll the bottom of the page to View Modifiers.
- Click + button next to Modifiers to expand and view modifier groups
- Click + on each modifier group to view modifiers
- Locate modifier group or modifier.
- Click on gear icon.
- Select Unavailable.
- Select the Channels you would like to make menu unavailable for.
- Click Save Changes.
Remove Unavailability
- Select your brand from dropdown menu
- Select the location from dropdown menu
- Click REMOVE UNAVAILABILITY button to remove unavailability across all menus, categories, item and modifiers for the selected location
- You can also remove unavailability from individual items by clicking the gear icon next to the desired item and selecting remove unavailability.
Refresh Unavailability
- Select your brand and location from the dropdown menu.
- Click the REFRESH UNAVAILABILITY button to refresh unavailability.
