Overview
You will need to perform a cache refresh when you make updates to a menu and/or add new order types. You can refresh the cache in the Operations section of backoffice, under the Refresh Cache tab.
Tacit supports three types of cache refreshes:
-
Refresh Brand Cache
- This builds the cache for the whole selected brand ID. You will be able to see the progress status as the location, menu, and map options are refreshed for each location under the Brand ID.
Refreshing brand cache can sometimes take up to 20-30 minutes, during this time no web orders can be placed.
If ordering is active, do not select “Refresh Brand Cache” or “Clean Site Cache”, as this will cause system-wide issues.
-
Clean Site Cache
- This clears the cache and removes everything from the cache database.
-
Refresh Cache
- This is the standard cache build accessible for all brands and locations. When menu changes are made, you can perform cache refreshed using this feature.
If the changes will only affect one location, simply select the location by checking the relevant checkbox and click on ‘Refresh Cache’.
Note: If you get a blocking error when trying to refresh the cache, it indicates that another cache build is currently in progress. For more information about blocking errors, visit How do I build cache with a blocking error?
