How do I set up discounts and promos?

Summary

Users can set up multiple discount types in the back office. Tacit supports the creation of promo codes, coupon codes, regular discounts, and customer tier discounts. These discounts can be configured by client app, company/brand, or location. They can also be set to apply for specific menus, menu categories, menu items, and meal offers.

POS Mapping

POS IDs for discounts are required for POS Connected locations these can be set up under the "POS Mapping" tab when adding a new promo or discount.

• Add the configured discount POS ID for each location.

• You can use the bulk edit feature to add 1 POS ID to all locations using the same POS type.

Discount Statuses

Once you create and save a discount, you will be able to see an overview of all discounts in the discounts tab. 

• Draft - the discount is not active yet, but will be effective on a future date.
• Active - the discount is currently active. 
• Expired - the discount is no longer effective and not schedule to be activated in the future.
