How do I set up a discount/ promo code?

Summary

We’ve added the ability for users to create order level discounts in the back-office.

Creating discounts and promo codes

1. Go to the Offers tab in the back-office
2. Click ADD NEW button

3. Setup discount within scope of a:
   1. Client app
   2. Company brand
   3. Location

4. Create automatic discount or promo code
   1. Automatic discounts will apply without need for user to enter a code
   2. Promo codes will apply discount when user enters code. You will need to define the promo code users enter.

5. Add effective date
   1. The effective date is the date the discount takes effect and is active
6. Limit to apply during days of the week and hours of day
   1. The discount will only be effective during the selected days of the week and time of day selected

7. Add expiry date
   
   The discount will no longer be available on the expiry date (the last day of availability will be the day before the selected expiry date)
   
   
   
   
   

8. Create new discounts or use existing to apply to new scope
   a. Once you have filled out the information above, you can choose to re-use a previous discount or create a new discount
   b. If you choose to use an existing discount, select the discount you will use from the pop-up. All existing discounts within your scope will appear for quicker setup of repeated discounts.

9. If you create a new discount, enter the discount name
   a.The discount name is for internal user only and will not be displayed to end-users

10. Define discount value by dollar amount or percentage
    a. Dollar amount will discount a flat dollar amount off the order (ex. $10)
    b. Percentage will discount a percentage amount off the order (ex. 10%) 
    
    
11. For percentage discounts - add a max dollar amount. (Optional)
    This is the maximum dollar amount that can be discounted off the order for percentage-type discounts. If there is no maximum dollar amount for the discount, you can leave this field empty. 
    
    
    
    
12. Define discount usage
    a. One time per user - Discount will apply 1 time only per user account
    b. One time daily per user - Discount will apply 1 time every day per user account
    c. First time order - Discount will only apply to first order of a user account
    d. Every order- Discount will apply to all orders

12. Define is discount applies before tax
    a. Discount may apply before subtotal+ tax or after subtotal + tax
    
    
    
    
    
    
13. Define minimum purchase amount in dollars required for discount to apply
    a. (ex. User must make a minimum purchase of $15.00 for 10% discount to apply)

14. Select order type discount applies to
    a. Discount will apply to the specified order type
    
    
    
    b. If you select a single order type, the discount will not apply to any other type
    
    Please note, we cannot set up discounts for Delivery Network orders (ie. Uber Eats, Door Dash, Skip The Dishes). These discounts should be set up on the Delivery Network side.
    
    
    
15. Define is discount can be applied with other discount at same time
    
    

POS Connected locations

• POS IDs for discounts are required for POS Connected locations
  • Add discount POS ID for each location
  • Use bulk edit feature to add 1 POS ID to all locations using the same POS type

Discounts Status

Once you create and save a discount, it will have a status

• Draft - the discount is not effective yet, but will be effective on a future date
• Active - the discount is currently effective
• Expired - the discount is no longer effective and not schedule to activate in future
