Overview
This article provides instructions for user deletion of accounts on Tacit apps, websites, and SDKs.

Deleting a user account
- Log in to the app
- Click on the hamburger menu in the top left corner of the app
- Click on User Profile
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Profile page
- Click Delete profile
- Click Yes, delete
When a user deletes their account all information associated with the profile will be deleted.
Users will no longer be able to log in with the associated credentials and will have to create a new account if they would like to log in to the given app.
What happens to user data once they delete their profile?
When a user deletes their profile, the following actions occur:

Irreversible Anonymization of Personal Data
- All personally identifiable information (PII) is irreversibly anonymized, including first name, last name, date of birth, postal/ZIP code, phone number, and email address. This process prevents reconstruction or identification of the individual.

Deletion of Gift and Loyalty Cards
- Any gift cards or loyalty cards associated with the account are permanently deleted, including related balances and account linkages.

Deletion of Credit Card Payment Profile
- The platform does not store credit card numbers. Payment methods are maintained through a tokenized credit card payment profile managed by a PCI-compliant payment processor. Upon account deletion, the user’s credit card payment profile, including all associated payment tokens, is permanently removed.
After completion of this process, the account is deactivated and the associated data is no longer accessible.
