How do I create a subdomain?

 

Creating a DNS (Subdomain)

Create the subdomain and point it to our traffic manager with the following configurations:

• DNS - order.[yourdomain].com

• CNAME Record

• TTL 60 seconds

• Target: mgnweborderglb.trafficmanager.net

 

Verify DNS record

1. DNS Propagation Checker - Global DNS Checker Tool
2. MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox

 

DNS Checker

1. Go to DNS Propagation Checker - Global DNS Checker Tool

2. Enter your subdomain into the text field

3. Choose CNAME next to the subdomain name
   
   
   
   

4. Click Search button

5. Here is an example of proper DNS propagation using the DNS checker 

 

MX Lookup Tools 

1. Go to MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox
2. Enter your subdomain in the text field 
3. Click MX Lookup

If set up correctly, it will show the following message

 

Canonical Name pointing to our traffic manager:

 

TTL should be minimum available for that provider.  For GoDaddy, this is 5 minutes.  For Network Solutions, 60.  etc.
