The City of Toronto implemented a bylaw on March 1st, 2024 regarding single-use & take-way items.
Customers now have to request these single-use items (ie. straws, napkins, utensils, paper bags etc.) for a restaurant to provide them as part of the order.

Setting Up Single-Use & Takeaway items
Mobile Apps & Websites
- For our white-label mobile apps/websites, you can create a menu category with the category type code: Cutlery & Condiments. See how to set up a Cutlery & Condiments category here.
Delivery Networks
- For DoorDash and Skip The Dishes: Clients can create a separate category with regular menu items set up for cutlery & condiments that they offer. They will need to be set up with POS IDs like any regular menu item
- For Uber Eats, we can use the following restaurant setting to enable the "Request Condiments/Utensils" toggle for each location.

Kiosks
For kiosks, cutlery& condiments will have to be set up as menu items (we do not support the checkout option right now)
